Crafting an interactive sales tool for luxury travel firm Belmond

Belmond is a luxury travel brand, offering unique experiences in iconic destinations around the world. It has curated a collection of exceptional hotels, trains and river cruises, and is well-known for its impeccable service and attention to detail.

The Challenge

A customisable presentation for audiences worldwide

A long-standing client, Belmond has worked with UKSV on a number of multimedia and brand experience projects over the years. 

On this occasion, they approached us to provide creative and technical support to create an iPad-friendly, interactive sales presentation to showcase all of the company’s train and river cruise experiences. 

The presentation needed to be flexible enough so that each salesperson could deliver it in a personalised way, adapting it to suit the needs and priorities of audiences across the globe.

The presentation needed to showcase 13 bespoke train and river journeys, including key journey information, route maps, dining options, cabin images and unique video content for each journey.

All assets needed to be embedded in a branded framework that would reflect the high quality and unique identity of Belmond’s services.

Our Approach

During the initial development phase, we presented Belmond with a variety of options,  from an interactive PDF asset to a simple microsite. Together, we decided on a PowerPoint presentation with hyperlinks, which allowed the user to jump from one section to another to suit their unique context and presentation style. This ensured the presentation was flexible enough to accommodate salespeople’s needs, while still encompassing all of Belmond’s train and river cruise offerings. 

The presentation was uploaded onto the client’s iPads, and rigorously tested before deployment.

The Results

We created over 400 slides, which act as an interactive brochure. This particular format allowed us to add further trips and extra details, as and when required. This provided Belmond with a flexible, long-lived asset that they can use as the basis for future presentations, rather than having to develop a new design from scratch.
